I am over the moon today.
I emailed an article to 'Mumbai Mirror',which is one of the most widely circulated newspapers in Mumbai, yesterday evening and today,to my joy,it was published.
It may not sound a big thing but for me it definitely is.
I am really thrilled, even though they edited quite a few things from my article.
As you all probably know, recently a little girl was attacked by a pack of dogs and they managed to tear away part of her flesh.Fortunately, the girl's dad and other people came to her rescue.
Last year ,2 kids in Bangalore were attacked and killed by stray dogs.Even then, the animal activists were against killing the strays...
I am posting the article here..........................(warning"My Language is not great")

This refers to the article 'Feed that stray and pay Rs.500! (MM,August11,2008)'.
I believe that BMC has taken the right step in penalizing stray dog feeders. The number of strays in Mumbai is on the rise and many of us are having difficulty in sleeping at night because of the never ending howling through out the night.
In Bangalore, since the past past few years, many kids have been attacked and a few even got killed by stray dogs. The strays pounced on the kids and tore apart their tiny bodies.Imagine the plight of the parents who lost their little angels just because the stray dogs are allowed to breed freely.Despite this, the animal lovers were against putting those violent dogs to sleep.
I understand the concerns of animal lovers but we need to draw the line somewhere.
Agreed,it is not the dogs at fault but then the 'misplaced love' of the activists needs to be toned down. Lets not let Mumbai become another Bangalore in terms of dog menace.
Lets prevent cruelty against animals but lets also learn to value human lives more than that of animals'.
Thanks,
